Nate Kaeding – a nice guy, a great message

I can’t imagine there are many guys  in professional football who are as genuine, humble, down-to-earth and just plain Iowa-nice as Nate Kaeding, the former Iowa Hawkeye kicker who now stars for the San Diego Chargers in the NFL.

Kaeding (with Hy-Vee President Randy Edeker, left) was at Hy-Vee’s Exercising Your Character event last week in Des Moines to share a simple yet powerful message about the importance of putting forth your best effort and taking pride in everything you do. Judging by the number of young fans who clamored for his autograph after the event, his message found a receptive audience.
