How does your shopping list score?

Those little numbers on Hy-Vee shelf tags have found their way into Hy-Vee ads.

This week’s Hy-Vee ad circular is the first to feature NuVal scores printed next to many of the sale items. NuVal is a scientific scoring system that rates the nutritional value of foods on a scale of 1-100. The higher the NuVal score, the more nutritious the product.

The NuVal system has been in use in all Hy-Vee stores since the beginning of 2009. To date,  more than 17,000 products have been scored, with more being added all the time. You can find the NuVal score printed on the item’s shelf tag — and now, in the ad as well!
