Hy-Vee helps raise money for diabetes cure

Hundreds of Hy-Vee employees flooded the skywalks of downtown Des Moines on Saturday for the annual Walk to Cure Diabetes, a benefit for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The 2.5-mile indoor trek is central Iowa’s largest benefit walk, with more than 8,000 participants of all ages turning out to raise money to find a cure for Type I diabetes. Organizers hope this year’s Iowa walk will generate more than $1.3 million in donations for JDRF.

Thank you so much for mentioning the adborale Mr. Incredible, Jack. He is an utter rock star who is living with Juvenile Diabetes since his diagnosis last June. While he’s bearing up really well, there is such a REAL, GENUINE possibility that this disease could be eradicated in *our lifetime*. Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is supplying critical funds to doctors and researchers conducting studies to try to find a way to wipe out this disease.Thank you, Shiloh for bringing attention to Mr. Incredible, and to this important fight! We’re looking forward to walking in support of JDRF next weekend. You are wonderful! Thanks!
